Happy Monday, friends!! The Hendley-Sapel wedding countdown is now at 19 days… nineteen!! That’s just under 3 weeks so you could say I’m starting to freak out a little bit. Excited. Anxious. Happy. Overwhelmed. Those are just a few of the feelings going through my system right now and I’m SO excited to be marrying the love of my life… but also to be done with all of this planning!
Today I’m talking about a must-have item for the wedding as well as a timeless keepsake… the invitation!! Everyone always says these “set the tone” for the wedding and while I wanted a nice invitation, I wasn’t about to go overboard with letterpress printing or inner envelopes. But trust me- you can still achieve a classy, formal look without breaking the bank.
You may remember that I used Minted for our save-the-dates, but I wanted to do something different this time around so I went with the custom route for our invites. I worked with the super sweet Lauren from Elle Dee Designs to create a design that was formal, but still showed my personality.
I was excited to have a custom design because I wanted something different and unique to our own wedding. Lauren & I went over my wedding Pinterest board to get some ideas of my style and then she came up with fonts for us to choose from. After that, she came up with a few different designs for us to choose from. I can be quite indecisive at times- we all have our flaws– but we finally came up with an awesome design for our big day!
Y’all know I’m a gold fanatic so I wanted to include that design element in our invites, but foil was a little out of our price range. Lucky for us, Lauren came up with the perfect solution- digital metallic printing! When you move the paper in the light, the gold dots shine and it gives the invitation some dimension. There are only a few printers that have this capability so I’m thankful that Lauren had access to one. And I just love it assembled in the envelope, like a fun little party inside!
MINT & GOLD WEDDING INVITATIONS
I did my own calligraphy in pretty gold ink on the outer envelopes and overall I’m so happy with how they turned out. We have almost all of our RSVPs in (you know there’s always some stragglers) and things are finally falling into place. Next on the agenda is working on the escort cards, getting our marriage license, and a venue walkthrough on Friday. Still can’t believe this is happening!

Your invitations are stunning! I love the gold on them – perfect accent. Also, the whole indecisive thing when it comes to invitations? Right there with you. The design process is not a pretty process for someone who is indecisive!
