Last night Ryan & I met up after work to sip on some vino at The Duke Mansion, a historic inn situated in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. It’s a well-known event venue complete with several gardens. I was fortunate enough to have my bridal shower there a few months ago but it was a dreary February day so I didn’t really get to explore outside. Luckily, there was happy hour!
During the month of July, The Duke Mansion opened up its grounds to the public for a weekday happy hour. Things have been pretty busy lately but we were able to squeeze in some time on the last day of this event to check it out. Let me first say that it was hot out there- almost 100 degrees- so we didn’t last too long but it was a gorgeous night so we had to take advantage.
There are over 4 acres of gardens surrounding the mansion and even in this heat, they were immaculate. Lots of benches and fountains along with several outdoor spaces perfect for hosting an event. It truly is the perfect escape from the bustle of the city- 2 miles from uptown Charlotte yet perfectly tucked away. Although the happy hour series is over (hopefully they’ll bring it back next year), you can still enjoy time on the grounds by booking a picnic-for-two. I love picnics and if someone else can prepare the food… even better! Find out more here.

Simply beautiful. I immediately thought of Duke Gardens which is so similar just without the mansion. Love the Lilly dress. It looks beautiful on you!

Such a beautiful property! It has been so hot lately. My SUV fries my butt every time I slide into the black leather driver seat. I'm kind of ready for fall and football season!

I'm interested in reserving this place because choosing the right venue which does not favor a specific culture becomes difficult. Halls here have fountains and elaborate pictures. Some venues Chicago display traditional artifacts and paintings.

I've been to every larger venue in the town and this is one of the best. Their menu is small but at least they seem to do what they have on it well. The venue houston tx have a variety of salads and sandwiches, and a fresh daily soup.
