Casual Summer Outfit + $1,000 Nordstrom Giveaway

Hey guys- there’s a lot to cover in today’s post so listen up! First of all, I’m sharing this casual summer outfit featuring the cutest denim mini skirt– they’re back and bigger than ever this season. Second, it’s my five-year blogiversary and I’m sharing why I started my blog way back in 2013. I can’t believe it was 5 years ago that I was visiting my friend Lindsay in Atlanta and decided to start a blog to document my time in PA school which I would be starting that fall. Along with sharing what I was up to in PA school, I eventually started sharing outfits I would wear to class because we had to dress in business casual. This was especially fun because prior to school I didn’t really wear business casual so… hello new wardrobe!! Over time I wanted to share other things I was up to  whether it was weekend recaps, travel or beauty reviews so towards the end of PA school my blog transitioned more into a creative outlet. I still remember borrowing a friend’s DSLR to learn how to shoot in manual and was so excited when I bought my own. The photos have come a long way, people!

I have never intended to be a full-on “fashion blogger” but instead to have a “lifestyle” focus on my blog. I know a lot of people recommend having a more narrow focus when starting a blog, but that’s just not me so I’m going to stay true to myself and keep the variety going! Not only do I love sharing my favorite outfits with you guys, but over the past few years I have truly enjoyed sharing travel, beauty and home decor posts as well. I have met some great people through blogging, got to work with some amazing brands, and travel to inspiring blog conferences. Blogging is a lot of work- it’s not all taking photos and going to events- but it is SO rewarding in the end and I just can’t imagine not doing it. Whether you are a new reader or have been following along from the early days… I want to THANK YOU for coming to this space and being a part of this community with me!!

I wanted to share a few quick things about my outfit (which we shot in 90 degree weather by the way, the struggle was REAL!). I have had my eyes peeled for a denim skirt and came across this one by AGOLDE and love it so much! It’s high-waisted and has just the right amount of distressing. And the light wash is perfect for summer! I paired it with this $10 striped tee and my white canvas sneakers.
