New in CLT: La Belle Helene Opening

I’m a city girl through and through and absolutely love living in Charlotte. We like to think of it as a small big city but it has been growing like crazy and it seems like there’s a new business popping up every day. I am going to make a better effort to share some of my favorite spots in the city with you guys and today’s post is all about the newest French restaurant in town, La Belle Helene!

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the media preview for uptown Charlotte’s newest restaurant, La Belle Helene. It’s a French brasserie located in the new 300 South Tryon tower. The decor is out of this world and unlike anything we have in Charlotte- it feels like it belongs in NYC or Paris. So swanky!

I absolutely love the bar area, it has such a unique design and would be the perfect place to grab a drink after work. We started off with champagne and cocktails and then got to sample the charcuterie and beef tartare. Oh, and the bread & butter were amazing! 

La Belle Helene had a fancy glass-front rotisserie which cooks up the most tender and flavorful chicken. We tried the half chicken which was served on a bed of Yukon gold potatoes with rosemary and garlic. If you look really close, you see that the potatoes are placed underneath the chickens so they soak up all the flavorful juices. These are a must-try!

And last but certainly not least, dessert! They served up Baba au Rhum which is a sponge cake drizzled in rum syrup. This place has blown up on Instagram (and for good reason) and if you’re looking to try something different next time you’re in uptown Charlotte, I can’t recommend this place enough! I’m already planning my trip back and can’t wait to try their escargots, onion soup, and lobster pasta. They are open for dinner and will be rolling out their lunch & Sunday brunch menus soon!
