It’s baby month and our sweet little girl could come any day now so I thought I’d share my third trimester and final bumpdate of this pregnancy!
BABY SIZE & POSITION
Baby Girl Sapel has turned out to be quite a bit larger than Porter was. At my last ultrasound a few weeks ago she was measuring over 6 lbs and in the 70th percentile (compared to Porter being in the 8th)! Now she’s the size of a pumpkin, according to my pregnancy app, and officially fully cooked. The unfortunate thing is that she’s breech- I tried the at home exercises and even an ECV (external cephalic version) 2 weeks ago but even the doctors couldn’t roll her into a head-down position. This means that I’ll be having a scheduled c-section and while that wasn’t the birth experience I was expecting, I’m just praying that it goes smoothly and my body recovers as quickly as it can. I guess I’m most nervous about the extra recovery time because I had such little pain with Porter and I know recovering from surgery will be quite tough with a newborn and toddler running around!
WE HAVE A NAME!
We’ve had a name picked out for a while now, but Ryan & I like to keep that special secret just between the two of us until baby is born. I did share her monogram on Instagram a while ago and took guesses for the name- we can’t wait to meet baby B!
MATERNITY CLOTHES
I recently got a few new things from Pink Blush Maternity- most notably this leopard maxi dress that I’ve been wearing nonstop. I have to say that I’m ready to get back to my normal wardrobe again but am thankful that I can be in flowy dresses during this summer heat!
Ruffle strap tank (comes in 6 colors)
Zebra print maternity swimsuit (the most comfy thing ever!)
Animal print ruffle sleeve top
PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS
My first two trimesters were a breeze but the end of this third trimester has been a doozy. Baby girl is bigger this time around and so am I… and I’m feeling it! I’ve had swelling in my feet and ankles (er… cankles) for the past month and can’t tell you the last time my wedding rings fit. A symptom new to me this pregnancy has been carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my hands. About a month ago I noticed that numbness and tingling in my hands would wake me up and then would be very sore in the morning. This can happen in pregnancy due to the swelling irritating the nerve but hopefully it will resolve quickly after I deliver! Also I’m just generally short of breath because baby girl’s head is up against my ribs/lungs so I tend to get winded pretty easily. Oh and the worst symptom according to Ryan is my snoring!
GIRL THINGS & NURSERY
Shopping for baby girl has been so much fun! Yes, basically everything is pink and I’ve picked up a few essentials like bows, gowns and swaddles. Her nursery, however, is only halfway complete. I wish I could say it’s “second child problems” but it’s not! Everything has been ordered, just a few of the big items are still backordered due to COVID/manufacturing delays. The main things I’m waiting on are her crib, glider and a rattan wall shelf. Luckily we have a bassinet and pack & play for her to sleep in but really hoping her crib will come in sooner than later!
We also snuck in some last minute maternity photos with Andrea Brewer Photography which we just got in so I will be sharing more of those in a few days!! Until baby girl comes we will be soaking up our last few days as a family of three but we are so very excited to meet her very very soon!
