Casual Outfit in NYC: The Must-Have Dress for Fall

Hey guys! Can we take a minute and talk about how it’s already October?! I feel like Christmas will be here in like 5 minutes and I wish time would slow down… just a little. Last weekend Ryan & I went on a quick getaway to New York City, which was a blast as always. We try to go once a year and love exploring new places as well as revisiting old favorites. Today I’m sharing a comfy & casual outfit that will be on repeat all fall long. This grey dress is a must-have for your closet!

I spotted this dress online on Indigeaux’s website a few days before my trip and immediately had to order it. If you get one dress this fall, make this the one! Jack by BB Dakota is one of my favorite brands because I can always count on a good fit, good quality product and affordable price. I love the cut of the dress- fitted but not quite body con. The tie really flatters the waist and I love the wrap style hemline (although it doesn’t actually wrap so you don’t have to worry about it flying away!). I dressed it down with sneakers but it will look super cute with boots or booties and a fun scarf as the weather cools down.

I brought along this blush circle cardigan to layer over my dress (which is now back in stock in all sizes & colors!) and wore it every single day of the trip. It is super soft and oh-so-cozy, perfect for traveling too. And if you follow along on Instastories, you may have seen that this olive satchel from Vera Bradley also arrived just in time for my trip. I am obsessed with their leather handbags and I cannot think of a more perfect bag for fall. The olive color is gorgeous and I love the contrasting brown trim. This bag even has a special place to hold a portable power bank for your phone with a little hole that extends into the phone pocket so you can easily charge on the go. Talk about nifty! I’m always drawn to satchels because of their versatility but if you’re into bigger bags, this style also comes in a tote and backpack version.
