Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Luncheon & Rehearsal Dinner

Napa on Providence rehearsal dinner Happy Wedding Wednesday!! The time has finally come for me to share our wedding details with you all and I couldn’t be more excited to relive the weekend. It was pure bliss and people aren’t kidding when they say it’s the best day ever. There will be plenty to share from the actual wedding (seriously… prepare yourselves, folks) but today I’m going to recap our pre-wedding events- the bridal luncheon and rehearsal dinner so let’s jump right in!


I hosted a bridal luncheon for my bridesmaids and moms at Vivace, one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Charlotte. It had rained earlier in the week so I was happy that it was sunny, but it was also crazy windy that day! We had a private chef’s table in the back of the restaurant where we sipped on bubbly and talked about all things wedding. I gave my bridesmaids their gifts as well. I wish I would’ve taken a photo of everything I got them in true blogger fashion, but I just never got a chance to. In their bags were robes from Plum Pretty Sugar (so adorable!), champagne glasses that said “Champs Drink Champs” as well as champagne bubble candy, earrings from J.Crew, a sequined hanger, and a handwritten note.

After lunch I had to check into The Westin and get some of our things up to the room for the next day. Luckily my planner Courtney picked up my dress from the boutique and dropped it off to my room- lifesaver! All of a sudden it was time for the rehearsal and all I could think was, “Is this really happening?!” The ceremony area was all set up with chairs and everyone loved the space. We did a few walkthroughs with our wedding coordinators and just crossed our fingers that we’d get it right the next day. Picking out a little white dress was also fun and I went with a white & gold embroidered Lilly Pulitzer dress because it truly made me feel like a real bride!


foundation for the carolinas rehearsalOnce we knew where we had to be, it was time to start the party! We held our rehearsal dinner at Napa on Providence and it was SO much fun. Their private room is gorgeous and my bridesmaids came a little early to add some finishing touches like florals on the tables and the cute “Mr. & Mrs.” banner.

Y’all know by now that Ryan was such a big help through this process. From looking at venues to tastings to making a giant spreadsheet and attempting to keep me on budget, he was great. Of course the week leading up to the wedding was filled with last minute to-do’s so he helped make the slideshow for the rehearsal. It was a hit and featured baby pictures (of course!) as well photos of us throughout our relationship and with our family and wedding party.

The food was amazing but the highlight had to be the cake. Ryan is really into watches and bought himself a Panerai after we sold a ring that we won from the Diamond Dash scavenger hunt about 6 months after we started dating. He was SO excited about getting this watch and it is still one of his favorites so it was only fitting that he have an edible timepiece that said “Time to get hitched.” He absolutely loved it and it was SO delicious (we thoroughly enjoyed it even a week after our honeymoon!). We kept things going with a welcome party at DandelionMarket, the place where Ryan & I met and had our first date. This was a great time to catch up with out of town guests that weren’t at the rehearsal dinner and I highly recommend doing this if you’re planning a wedding. I gave myself a curfew and me & my girls were out of there by 9:30 and headed to the hotel to get ready for bed. So. Much. Excitement!

I’m still waiting on the USB of all our wedding photos and as soon as I get them, you can expect to see many more wedding posts on these “wedding Wednesdays!” We truly had such an amazing team to help us as well as our friends & family and we couldn’t have asked for a better start of our marriage.     That cake is so great, my husband loves watches too! I was so close to choosing the same exact rehearsal dress but changed my mind at the last minute. It looked perfect on you!
