Last weekend, Ryan and I headed to Charleston with his parents for a quick weekend getaway. I love any chance I get to visit this city full of southern charm so today I’m sharing just a few snaps from the weekend!
First, I have to share our Airbnb, an adorable historic house on Queen Street. We had the entire downstairs of the owner’s house which had a living room, two bedrooms, one bath and a full kitchen. He did such a good job decorating and the location was perfect, walkable to everything. He even included a book of restaurant recommendations, snacks, and wine! Funny story though- on Sunday night the temps dropped down into the 30s and we couldn’t figure out how to work the heat (he had fancy remotes) so we absolutely froze our butts off!! I slept in a sweatshirt, pants and socks and was still cold. This was Ryan’s parents first time in Charleston so we spent most of our time walking, eating and exploring. The first night we had dinner at Poogan’s Porch, a Charleston favorite. I had the shrimp & grits and their food never disappoints. We drove out to the Isle of Palms and Folly beach and explored the must-see places like Rainbow Row and The Battery. On Sunday Ryan’s mom and I explored all King Street had to offer and we had dinner at The Ordinary, my favorite spot for oysters. Let me also add that there was lots of world series watching at night!
