TGIF y’all! I’ve had quite a bit of time off this week (thanks to a water main break on the street where I work) so I used that time to squeeze in some extra workouts, go to the dentist, and work of blog stuff. Now, onto today’s outfit.
I picked up this velvet skirt from Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago and fell in love with the color and the little buttons (online it says silver, but it’s definitely blue). Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean you have to put away your velvet pieces- I’ll definitely be wearing mine through February. This skirt does run a little small- I’m wearing a medium for reference and it also comes in a dark purple color.
I paired the skirt with a chunky knit sweater in an unexpected color- I’d call it a dark coral/rust. If you’re looking for a simple yet warm winter sweater, this one is a great pick because it’s super soft (even though it’s a wool blend), it’s under $60 and comes in 9 colors. Last but not least, my tassel earrings are currently on sale! My earlobes can’t take super heavy earrings anymore so I love that these are big but very lightweight (mine are the tan color).

Do y’all have any fun plans for the weekend? Ryan’s dad and stepmom are coming to visit- we’re doing a belated Christmas tonight and going to an escape room tomorrow. Who else loves doing those?! I am so about this color combo. Chunky knits and velvet are definitely two of my staples this winter as well.
