Hey friends, I hope everyone had a great weekend! We pretty much went from a cool spring to a hot summer in one week- it was in the 90s here in Charlotte and I’m like… okay weather, slow down! I had to work but spent both nights out on our rooftop and it was glorious. I’m SUPER excited to share today’s outfit because let’s be honest, you know I’m all about some gingham this season! Today I’m styling this sage gingham dress two ways- dressed up and down for spring & summer.
So first of all, let’s take a moment to talk about the cuteness of this dress. The color, the print, the ties- it’s the perfect little sundress for summer. The slightly crinkly fabric is great because you don’t have to worry about wrinkles. I’m loving the lilac and mint color combo so I added a statement earring- these raffia tassel earrings are part of Kendra Scott’s new summer collection and they are to DIE for! The color is absolutely gorgeous and they are so well made. If purple isn’t your thing, they come in 4 additional colors and I will say they are on the heavier side but if you wear them with lobe wonders, they won’t bother you a bit!
To add some more color, I dressed up my circle straw bag with a bright scarf and topped of the look with my new go-to wedges. These are tall enough to give you a little boost but are insanely comfy- trust me, your feet will thank you! This look is perfect for date night, showers, or a fancy brunch.
Not that this dress is super “dressy” but you can make it even more casual, perfect for afternoons at the brewery or a date to the movies. The easiest way is to switch up your shoes from wedges to a pair of canvas sneakers. I just got these in from Vionic and loveeee them so much! I am not a Converse girl (they look so cute on some people, just not my personal style) so I think these are a great option if you are wanting a neutral canvas shoe. They have jute material lining the sole which is a great detail summer and I think they’re the perfect tennies for this dress! You can also throw on a denim jacket and tone down the jewelry for a look that’s a little more subdued.
