We are merely DAYS away from moving in and I’m back to share what’s been happening at the new Hotel Sapel! This project has been over a year in the making and it’s crazy to think that it’s almost complete. This will be my last construction update post until we move in but don’t worry… I’ll be sharing many more details on hour design, selections and of course decor in the near future!

I LOVE the look of white birch logs and thought that would be fun and different. The first time I saw birch trees was when I went skiing in Utah last winter and they are just so beautiful! I couldn’t be more excited for this fireplace- can’t wait to curl up with a blanket and cup of hot apple cider. We will be adding a Samsung Frame TV above the fireplace- pretty excited about this too and hope it’s all it’s cracked up to be. Basically it’s a TV that goes into “art mode” when it’s on the wall and lays completely flush so it looks like a piece of artwork when it’s off instead of a black box.
All of our mirrors are up! I was debating on doing all chrome or mixed metals in the master bathroom but was worried all chrome would look too “sterile” and I wanted to add some warmth and so glad I did. We did think these sconces were a bit high and actually found ones that we think will look better so they will he replaced this week.
Moving on over to the kitchen… our appliances are in!! Our 48″ JennAir range is such a statement piece and I love the touch of brass on the knobs. Funny story about this range- we actually ordered one from KitchenAid (you usually get better rebates if you get a big appliance package) and purchased it months ago. Well, we got a call from the appliance dealer a few weeks ago and apparently KitchenAid stopped making their 48″ range and can’t fill all the orders that have been placed. Like… what?!!! They said it might be late December before the new model would be available so the store was talking about getting us a temporary gas range just to pass inspection. Well, things ultimately turned out because the store talked to Whirpool (who owns KitchenAid and JennAir) and were able to get us a nicer range for the same price!!! At first I was thinking it would be weird if it didn’t match our other appliances (me being my OCD self), but it’s honestly so much prettier and even has WiFi!
Our study might be my favorite room in the house! They just installed this gorgeous chandelier from Capital Lighting (c/o) and it makes such a statement. Now I just need to find a rug, drapes and add my desk!
