I’m starting to really like this day of the week because… it’s wedding Wednesday!! I’m so very excited to share our save-the-dates with you all so let’s get right to it!


Picking a save-the-date was no easy feat, especially when you have someone as indecisive as me making most of the decisions. All of our engagement photos were absolutely beautiful (see part one & part two here), so naturally it was hard to pick “the one.” I only wanted one photo on the front to keep it simple and when I asked Ryan what photo he envisioned on there, we actually had the same one in mind!

Next came the design process. I used Minted for our save-the-dates because of their reputation for beautiful paper goods as well as the fast turnaround. Ryan & I were originally supposed to have our shoot in September, but due to two straight weeks of rain and having to reschedule with three vendors, it was moved to mid-October. Luckily, the weather was absolutely gorgeous that day, but I had to start designing the cards ASAP. I had thought about creating a custom design, but our timeline just didn’t allow it. Thankfully, I received them in less than a week and we sent them out just under the 6-month mark.

I was so excited to get this little box. Everything was so neat and organized and I was so impressed with how the cards turned out.
I wanted to add a little something extra to our envelopes, so I went with matching striped liners.

I love all things foil-pressed. As far as invitations go, I didn’t want to go crazy (stationery isn’t cheap!) so I thought the save-the-date would be the perfect time to incorporate foil.

I couldn’t have just one photo, so I opted to add a backer with 4 additional photos as well as a little message to our guests. Adding your wedding website (and hashtag!) is a must!
The nice thing about Minted is that you can choose to have your envelopes addressed for free. However, I chose to hand-address them with calligraphy and was so happy with how they turned out. The gold ink is everything!

It’s about that time to start designing wedding invitations and I’ll be going the custom route for those. I can’t wait to share more wedding planning details with y’all and thanks for reading along!

    These are beautiful! Love the calligraphy. We didn't send out save the dates (that is pretty unheard of these days, I know), but we used Minted for our wedding invitations (and a bunch of other stationary). I am always so impressed with them.

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREGOUS, lady! I love the pictures and the card and the gold hand addressed envelope is everything. I think hand addressed notes add an extra something special :)!

    Love these! They look like perfection–and I love the four pictures on the back too!
    You are better than me with hand addressing everything–we printed ours and it was a time saver, but yours definitely look awesome in that gold print!

    Very pretty! So funny that everyone seems to have a wedding hashtag now and days. I remember when I had a wedding website and people thought that was weird! Now I'm aging myself, hehe. Can't wait to see how the wedding invites turn out!
