I love sharing home updates with you guys and am excited to share the process as we start to decorate our new home. It’s going to be a while before everything is “complete” but it’s still fun to share the journey and today I’m sharing a small peek inside our downstairs study/home office. It’s by no means the final product, but what we have decorated so far!
All sources are listed at the bottom.
Right now this room is known as the study but I have a feeling we’re going to convert it to a guest bedroom pretty soon since there is a full bathroom right next to it. The plan was for it to become the guest bedroom if we have 2 kids, but now we’re thinking it would be nice to have more guest bedrooms when we may have multiple family members in town. My favorite thing about this room has to be the wall molding and paint color. There are 10-foot ceilings in here and it just feels a little more dressed up with the wall detail. This gorgeous brass chandelier from Capital Lighting definitely steals the show and it makes a big statement in the space. This particular fixture is the 8-light chandelier but it comes in several sizes.
We added this desk and chair from World Market to play off the wood tones of the hardwood floors and grounded the space with a grey diamond pattern rug. FYI- you can only buy the chairs as a set of 2 online but they sell them as singles in the store. I had this brass etagere in the living room of our old townhome and wanted to find a place for it in the new house so it was only fitting to place it in the study. Styling shelves can be tricky and take time to accumulate the perfect items, but I love the mix of photos, books and touch of greenery. Eventually I envision adding a brass curtain rod and drapes to the windows, we just haven’t gotten that far yet!
I’m sure the next finished room I’ll be sharing is the nursery- it’s almost complete, just need to add some more decor and finishing touches to the walls. Stay tuned!!

It’s such a lovely space! I can’t wait to see how it transforms over time. From study, to office, to guest room, and maybe a bedroom in the future. It’s going to look beautiful no matter what!
