There are some major changes going on in the new house so I thought it was time to update you guys! We debated on calling it another name but #HotelSapel just has a great ring to it so we’re sticking with that. It’s really starting to feel like a home!!

All of the brick is up on the exterior and last week they started siding. We will have a combo of shake siding and Hardie board siding everywhere you don’t see brick. Oh, and we need to figure out the exterior paint colors soon. I swear, paint colors are THE hardest thing to decide on! For the brick I am thinking the top left color (SW Alabaster) and for the siding the bottom right color (SW Dorian Gray). What do you guys think?
This past week has definitely been the most exciting because SO much is going on! The hardwoods were installed at the beginning of the week. We used 5″ white oak and will be doing a matte finish and keeping them super light, I can’t wait to see the final product. They have also started trim on our doors and windows and the doors have been hung (but will later be painted black). And can you guess what I was most excited about?!? The tile!!! They started the marble herringbone floor in our master bathroom and I. AM. OBSESSED!!! This was at the top of our “must-have” list for the house for both Ryan & I and we are loving how it’s looking so far. We got all our marble tile from The Builder Depot which is an online-only retailer and I’ll be sharing much more about that process when the rest of the tile is complete.
Congrats if you made it to the end of this update, I know it was a long one!! I’m not going to lie, it feels good to be *almost* done with the decision making process. There have been SO many along the way, tile was probably the hardest along with paint colors. Here is what we have left to decide on:
- Finalize exterior paint colors
- Order door hardware
- Pick out lighting
- Decide interior paint colors/wallpaper
- Landscape design
- Finalize covered patio materials
As far as this week, more tile will go in, trim work will continue and cabinets are supposed to arrive on Tuesday!!! I’m very excited to see them and make sure to follow along on Instagram stories for more updates!

It’s been so fun seeing the progress on your home! I bet you’re just so excited and looking forward to it all being finished. The flooring is my favorite part so far. The wood and the marble are just gorgeous.
