Well, it’s the last Friday of my vacation and I’m not really okay with it. On a brighter note, today is Ryan’s birthday!! My handsome hunk of a boyfriend turns 30 today and I’m so glad that I get to be here and celebrate with him. Here’s a little recap of what I did this week:
Golfed… Ryan has been with his new job for a few weeks and they just launched their program on Monday so he had to work like crazy last weekend. No fun. He had a break in his day on Monday so I accompanied him and a friend to the Ballantyne golf course. I’m more of a put-put kind of girl, but it was fun to see Ryan’s skills in action. Plus I had fun driving the golf cart, even though it was 90 degrees out, phew!
Visited… My teeny hometown of Marion. I went to spend some time with my friend Kelly, my parents, and my grandma. I don’t go home very often because it’s more fun when my parents come to Charlotte to visit, but it was great to see everyone and catch up on life.
Filled… in my teeth that is. I’m bad about flossing y’all, I’ll admit it, but you can bet that I’m a changed woman after I found out how many cavities I had. I had the joy of getting 3 fillings on Wednesday and had to get numbed on the top and bottom. I had to run some quick errands and naturally I ran into two people who wanted to strike up a conversation with me while half of my mouth felt huge and droopy.. no fun I tell ya!
Ate… a yummy chicken salad sandwich with Katie & Logan. We had a little girls night and even made watermelon mint martinis that were absolutely delicious. It was a perfect night to eat outside… until the bugs got us!
Layed… out by the pool. Might as well work on my tan a little, although it’s not as fun when you’re by yourself. Just me, the sun, and Kimmy K’s marriage sham. Ps. these are not hot dog legs.
Watched… a baseball game. I finally went to a Knight’s game y’all! Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day and I wanted to spend as much time outside as possible. Ryan & I were in line to get standing room only tickets (because the seats were sold out) when an older couple came up to us and gave us 2 free tickets. I don’t know what it is, but we have been extremely lucky lately in the ticketing department (read about my luck at the JT concert here). So… here it is. The picture that pretty much all Charlotteans have posted all over Facebook, Instagram, etc. The skyline makes quite the backdrop for the baseball game, and we even saw a few home runs!
My little vacay is wrapping up and on Monday I’ll be back at Campbell for my clinical year orientation and will get to meet the new class of PA students. I can’t believe that one short year ago I was moving to Lillington and starting school- it seriously flew by but I’m so excited to start my clinical year! Now excuse me, I’m off to enjoy this beautiful day and celebrate with my birthday boy. TGIF 🙂

When I went to Charlotte last month, everyone was telling me that the baseball games were the most popular activity recently. Was it fun??

ugh i am terrified of going to the dentist because i am a bit of a slacker as well. i have been really on top of it lately, because i'm trying to undo the damage haha. sounds like such a fun vacay, happy birthday to your man!
I think that driving the golf cart is the best part of tagging along on a golf outing. Totally makes it worth it! Yesterday was a great day for baseball – glad you got to go to a game! Have a good weekend 🙂

Okay wait. I think I just had a heart attack. First I see Charlotte and my heart gets all sad because we moved from there about a year and a half ago and I still miss it entirely too much. But THEN I SEE CAMPBELL and nearly fall over dead. Are you in lillington?? My husband coaches football for Campbell and we live in a house ON CAMPUS! What a small freaking world! Also? You and your boyfriend are seriously adorable!
