Ryan scheduled a massage for me in one of the mountain view pagodas. I walked in and saw the fire going and windows overlooking the mountains- pretty much the coziest room ever. Side note- this was THE best massage of my life… no joke. One of our friends had a massage there last year and said it wasn’t any different from other massage places, but I beg to differ. Anyways, when the massage was over I wanted to take a photo of the place (for the blog of course). They don’t allow phones or cameras at the spa and I was following the rules so I asked for some help. The masseuse walked me over to the other pagoda because it wasn’t being used but I still didn’t have my camera so i was a little confused (he was going to walk me over anyways, but I guess my request made the plan work even better!).
The next morning we got up and went to the brunch buffet in the Blue Ridge Dining Room… so much amazing food and an even better view. Ryan loved this so much last year and I know he’s been dreaming about it since. After stuffing our bellies, we went to thank Lisa, one of my high school classmates that works at the hotel. Ryan had secretly been messaging her and she helped him arrange the pagoda and even decorated our room!
It was truly a magical weekend with my new fiancé! I didn’t want to leave but I was also ready to go see my friends & family. We stopped back through my hometown to personally deliver the good news to my parents and grandma. We came home to one last surprise- a beautifully decorated door complete with streamers and fun ring-shaped confetti. I have my friends Logan, Katie, & Lindsay to thank for that one- y’all are the best!
Whew! If you’re reading this then I want to congratulate you on getting through the two longest posts ever! But a proposal is truly such an important day in a girl’s life and I’m glad that I could share it with y’all. And now it’s about to get real… wedding planning. We will have a longer engagement since I’m still in school and have no desire to get married before I graduate. I know next to nothing about planning a wedding so this is where all you married bloggers come in. I would love to hear any advice, recommendations, or things you wish you did/didn’t do on your wedding day. I have plenty of time, but I’m also a planner so I’m going to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. And last but not least, this one’s for Ryan- You make me the happiest girl in the world and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you by my side!

Congrats again, lady! What a great proposal story, and well done documenting everything. It's so fun to look back on once you are married and everything is over [hard for you to believe, I know, but it does go by so quickly].
Here are some tips and feel free to ask me any questions. I'm not a wedding planner, but I loved how my wedding turned out and hounded all of my blog friends with questions when I was engaged, so I don't mind sharing, haha.
1] Decide on what kind of wedding you want, then look at dates and find the ceremony and the reception venue. Once you have that in place, things get a lot easier. [ If you are planning to get married in a church, remember that Lent and Advent are too busy seasons, so many churches don't offer wedding services those weekends].
2] Don't let prices freak you out too much. The wedding market is insane, and it's crazy how much things cost. You'll figure out what you NEED and what you want, quickly.
3] Don't let anyone steal your happiness. For whatever reason, weddings tend to bring out the rudeness in people and it's baffling who becomes a negative nancy. Forget their opinions and just do you and your fiance.
4] HAVE FUN! Remember, something will go wrong on your day, but it will still be fabulous!
Wow, that's a lot, sorry if I scared you :)!
