Our Wedding: The Details

Today’s wedding Wednesday is all about the details!! Every wedding has a ceremony and a reception but the details are the little things that set each wedding apart. The little things that are sweet and sentimental and are unique to your special day. Since y’all know I’m a huge planner, I was so very excited to see all of these things together!


One of the first details we got to share with our guests were the invitations. I worked with Lauren from Elle Dee Designs to create an invite that had some traditional elements, but was most importantly fun. I absolutely loved the shimmery gold dots and of course we had to introduce our hashtag!

After the
ceremony, our guests got to mix and mingle while enjoying hors d’ourves and cocktails-
featuring the incredibly delicious Moscow Mules! While these drinks are pretty
trendy right now, the real reason I wanted to incorporate them was because I was actually born in
Moscow, Russia.

For the escort cards, I knew I wanted something fun (and tasty!)
so we incorporated some more mint & gold with Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Aren’t they
the best?? This was one of my few DIY projects where I just punched out the circles
and wrote all the guest’s names in calligraphy. My MOH also helped out by hot
gluing the toothpicks to the backs of the cards. Lifesaver! 

I wanted to have a gold mirrored sign welcoming guests to the wedding (thanks Pinterest!) so I found this beauty on Craigslist for $30 and used a white paint pen for the hand lettering. I was so proud of this little DIY project and will be repurposing it for my friend Logan’s wedding as well.

We were quite excited about our hashtag and displayed throughout the wedding from the programs, to the table numbers, to this fun little sign. It was also a great way to make sure people knew the correct way to pronounce our last name 🙂

I think fun cocktail napkins were a great way to add a personal touch to our wedding and were an easy way to tie in some mint. I made these on ForYourParty and they turned out so well- they were affordable and I was so impressed with the quality. And while we didn’t go over the top with planning or decorations, I think everything turned out so nicely and I will always treasure these little details that made our wedding so special to us!

    LOVE all your lil details, they really make the wedding fun and YOU. I'm always surprised when brides take the meh way out and don't do lil things to really amp it up. It doesn't have to be anything expensive, but small lil hints of you as a couple always makes a wedding less generic and more special.

    You did such an amazing job with all of the DIY details! Seriously envious of your calligraphy skills. And how fun that you had Moscow mules to incorporate that part of your life!     I love that you used the Fererro Rocher candy as table cards. Super cute and delicious. We had the same toasting flutes and cake knife/server and I loved them. Also, even though it wasn't mentioned in this post, I cannot get enough of your dress, it is gorgeous!

    You had so many amazing and beautiful details for your wedding! I love the Mr. & Mrs. cutlery and wine glasses! And I might need you to come make a mirror for my wedding (whenever that might be lol)! Your calligraphy work is beautiful! I didn't know you were born in Moscow, that's very cool. Oh and Moscow Mules are my favorite, why didn't we have those in Charleston?! 🙂
