Hi, friends and happy Wednesday! And yes, it’s October and I’m still talking about my wedding. Is it so wrong that I don’t ever want wedding Wednesdays to end?! Today I’ll be sharing the details from the first part of our reception. The cake, the dancing, the decor. This post also gets me super excited for the wedding of one of my best friends and maid of honor happening this weekend. She is also getting married uptown (actually a block away from our venue) and I can’t wait to do this all over again with all of my best friends… except in a bridesmaid dress this time!
After the jitters of the ceremony were over and the guests enjoyed some drinks at cocktail hour, it was time to get the party started. Our reception was an absolute BLAST! Intros were first up and it was so exciting to watch our parents and wedding party enter the room and then we danced in to “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar. Does anyone else go into all-out dance mode when that song comes on?! We went right into our first dance to “Everything” by Michael Bublé and it was definitely one of the highlights of the day. You can read more about our first dance here.
Next it was time for some awesome speeches from my MOH, Ryan’s best man, and my dad. We laughed and we cried and in that moment we just felt so loved as we were surrounded by our closest family and friends. It was truly such a special night!

Seriously looks like such a fun reception! How fun that you get to relive it (sort of) at our friends wedding! I love Danza Kuduro, we wanted to do that, but instead chose Bailando and it was perfect! Both songs are really upbeat and get you in the party mode which is exactly what we wanted! I loved our food and made sure to get some too, our guests are still talking to me about how good the food was!
Your pictures are gorgeous! Speeches have to be one of the highlights of a wedding for me and it sounds like yours were great!
Absolutely gorgeous!! Looks like it was the perfect celebration! My dad and I danced to My Girl, too, just as we had my entire childhood. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
