Our Wedding: The Dancing + Grand Exit

Oh hey, Wednesday!! This one’s bittersweet because today my wedding Wednesday series officially comes to an end. Yes, I know I’ve dragged this thing out long enough but I love that I’ll be able to look through all these fun memories and relive them through the blog. These photos just bring me so much joy and I’ll never forget how happy Ryan & I felt that day. It was pure wedding bliss! Today I’m sharing some fun shots from the reception when the music was going and the Moscow Mules were flowing. I think it’s safe to say we had the best night ever!

After cutting the cake, hearing the speeches, and the customary parent dances, it was time to party… and party we did!! While planning for the big day, we knew that having an awesome DJ was high on the priority list. Until this summer I had never been to a wedding with a band (crazy, I know!)  and while bands are big, classy, and let you get on stage and sing with them, I just prefer to hear the real songs. Plus I love my booty shaking hip-hop music and DJs are just better for that!



Since I had a smaller wedding, I was worried that the dance floor might look empty but I was so wrong! One of the things I remember from that night was taking a minute and looking around to see that no one was sitting down in their seats but instead were on the dance floor or hanging out on the balcony. It was an awesome feeling to see that all our guests were having a blast. Note: An open bar usually helps this situation.

We sang and danced the night away and ended with Don’t Stop Believin’, Sweet Caroline, and Shut Up and Dance with Me as our very last song. After the reception was over, the new husband & I met our guests downstairs for our grand sparkler exit and our wedding day was complete! And no getaway car or pedicab for us because we headed straight to our afterparty which was conveniently a block away.

Marrying my best friend was a dream- I couldn’t have asked for anything more and I honestly wish we could do it all over again. A big thank you to our wedding party, friends, family, and awesome wedding vendors that made this day so special for us. I have loved sharing this journey with you all   and thank you for all of the sweet comments you have sent along the way, it means so much!

    Your photographer did an amazing job capturing all these pictures! The one of you throwing your bouquet is priceless. Totally sounds and looks like a huge fun party! I feel the same way though, I want to relive our wedding day over and over!

    I can't believe your wedding Wednesdays are over! Your reception looks like an absolute blast and I totally agree with your view of a DJ – I need some great hip hop jams lol We had a dry wedding so not as many people were on the dance floor as we thought (all our college friends were) – I didn't learn until after that people really don't get out there without alcohol lol
