I got this idea from Zelle (love her blog!) and what a better way to show my appreciation for my #1 fan!  Ryan got pretty excited when I told him I would “feature” him on the blog.  Also, I’m pretty excited that I get to enjoy the next 4 days in Charlotte with this guy!  Now, let’s see how much he knows about the world of girls and blogging…

Me: What do I typically write about?

Fashion, your new outfits, & your adventures in PA school.  And of course.. nails.


Me: What’s a popular fashion item for women right now?
Peplum and wedges.


Me: What’s the best place to shop for women?
The internet because it has everything.

Me: …But if you had to pick a store?

Nordstrom because their shoe collection is “to die for.”


Me: What do you know about Pinterest?

It’s where you pin all the crap you like.


Me: What’s a Hunter wellie?
I don’t have a clue.  Is it something hunter green?
Me: It’s a rain boot. (then I pulled up some photos)


Me: What do you and I like to do together?
Lots of stuff- work out together, try new restaurants, travel, & do fun activities and contests!


Me: What’s the Pantone color of the year for 2014?
What is Pantone? Is it yellow like the Kate Spade lemons?


Me: It’s Radiant Orchid like the lipstick I tried on.
That was my next guess…


Me: What do women keep in their purse?
Lipstick, cover-up, mascara, cell phone, tampons, wallet & a bunch of other junk.


Me: What do I do when I’m home alone?
Go on pinterest, shop & work on your blog.


Me: And what do you do when you’re home alone?
Watch TV, read, play Madden.


Me: What’s my favorite accessory?
David Yurman bracelet.. (followed closely by the Burberry watch I hope.) – a gift from him 🙂


Me: What’s an acceptable amount to spend on a makeup item?
$30.


Me: And what item would be worth $30?
Concealer.
Me: My concealer is $30, good job!

How they can constantly say they have nothing to wear when they clearly do
Me: Guilty!

When Life Gives You Lemons…

If you remember from a few weeks ago, Sarah & I got semi-matching Kate Spade bags so I decided to steal hers for this post!  If I imagined an ideal bag for summer, this would be it. Lemons are everywhere lately and I’m obsessed with Kate Spade… obviously.

During jeans days at school, we each pay $3 to wear jeans (instead of business casual) and that money goes to a family in need or to some type of good cause in the area.  This is actually jeans week because of finals, so I thought I’d enjoy this time to wear something springy & casual to class.

My mint skinnys are a spring staple (awesome Marshall’s find last year) and I picked up this top while we were in Naples, so I’m glad it’s finally warm enough to wear it!  A few weeks ago I was on the hunt for some strappy wedges and voilà, I went with the Steve Maddens. I absolutely love them- they help out this short girl with a 3.5 inch heel, but are still super comfortable, which is important.  You could say “beauty is pain,” but there’s nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes.

Birthday Celebrations Part 1: Raleigh Edition

I had an amazing 25th birthday thanks for my wonderful friends, PA classmates, and Ryan of course.  Birthdays are a big deal to me so this post is the celebration- part 1.  Stay tuned for more fun in Charlotte next week!

When it comes to my class, we roll deep.  20 of us headed to Buku in Raleigh for a delicious dinner and craft cocktails.  As y’all have heard me say, my class is pretty awesome and we especially love big group outings.  They even gave us a private dining room which was nice so we could have fun and not worry about being too loud.  After dinner, a few of us went out to get drinks and jammed out to the #selfie song (it’s dumb… but I love it!  Don’t judge).

I love that I got to see two of my very best friends, Logan & Rachael!  Those two, along with Katie & Lindsay, spoiled me with yummy cupcakes (complete with my monogram of course) and some goodies for my trip to Boston.  The cute little monkey you see is actually a piggy bank with a fund already started inside!  I also have to give another shout out to Ryan’s mom who got me this lovely dress for my birthday.

So thankful for everyone that made 25 a success!  I am officially halfway through finals- only 3 more to go this week and then I’ll be off to Charlotte for our “semester break,” which is really like 4 days… but I’ll take it!

25 Fun Facts on my 25th Birthday!

Happy birthday to meeeee!!  Even though this is the start of finals week (and I have a Lab Med test today), I’m going to celebrate as much as I can because birthdays are my favorite.  Even though I don’t get to see my boy today, he left me a present from him & one from his mom over the weekend (don’t worry, I haven’t peeked!) and I will open them up with him over FaceTime.

I have made it to a quarter of a century!  I thought I would write 25 fun facts so you all could know a little more about me, so here goes!

1. I was born in Moscow, Russia… moved here when I was 5
2. I have a little brother who is 13
3. I like any music with a beat so I can bust out in random dance moves
4. I’ve been skydiving– if you’re thinking about it… do it!
5. I skipped 2nd grade
6. I love fro-yo, banana pudding, & cheesecake… just sweets in general
7. I’m dying to travel to Europe
8. I drink copious amounts of hot tea
9. It takes a lot to gross me out (guess that’s why I’m in the medical profession)
10. Famous people I’ve met- Adam Levine & Flo Rida
11. Ryan & I won a Ritani diamond ring in the Diamond Dash
12. I love monogrammed anything
13. Not a huge fan of snow… except for missing school!
14. I hate sitcoms & the fake laughter… I will laugh on my own if it’s funny
15. I tend to abbreviate everything (totes obvi!)
16. Pictures are my life… because memories are priceless!
17. I love trying new restaurants & new foods, but don’t really like cooking them
18. I love David Yurman jewelry
19. Fall is my favorite season- nothing beats yellow leaves, apple cider, & Halloween!
20. I can’t sing, but rapping is a different story
21. Unlike most people I know, I’ve never had braces
22. I have a love/hate relationship with high heels (but nothing beats a good pair of wedges)
23. I would love to live in NYC for a year or two if I could
24. I can’t get enough of traveling… especially to beautiful tropical places
25. I love PA school & it’s a lot more fun than I thought it would be 🙂

Floral + Stripes

Florals

I would have to say I don’t own many floral pieces, but am itching to get some!  I am loving the floral & stripes combo these days.  I actually picked out these shorts at J. Crew when we were in Naples and put them on my birthday list!  And I have been eyeing that tortoise cuff, a girl can never have enough jewelry!  It has been rainy/cloudy the past few days but this outfit makes me think of bright & sunny days that are ahead 🙂

Spring Fling Mixer

This mixer had been a few months in the making and on Friday, it was finally party time.  We planned this social event for the PA, DO, PT, Pharmacy, and Public Health programs as a way to have fun & meet people outside of school.  Hopefully it will become a yearly tradition!  It was held at Gregory Vineyards in Angier, NC and the weather couldn’t have been better so I was one happy lady.

This event was also a fundraiser, aka party planning on a budget!  It’s no easy feat to get a DJ, decorate, and provide food on limited funds, but overall I think it turned out very well.

Here’s a shot of the bar before the mixer- everything is all setup and ready to go.  They even had wine slushies y’all!  Don’t I look like a real event planner??  Even though it was a lot of hard work, the end result made it so worth it!

We had pita chips, hummus, and cake for refreshments.  I had fun making the cute pennant banners with the help of my fabulous roomie Jeff, who helped me cut them out.  The centerpieces were a hit as well- I got the baby’s breath idea from Pinterest. You can never go wrong with candles!
The first part of the night was spent mostly outside because it was so nice out.  There was cornhole, wine sipping, and tractor rides through the vineyard. Once it got dark, the dance party started!
As always, a good roomie pic is a must-have (even though the sun was blinding us).  These guys helped me so much with planning, selling tickets, and setting up and I am so thankful for them!

I hope everyone had as great of a weekend as I did.  It was great to get all dressed up with my PA friends & my favorite boy/arm candy!  Today starts my birth-week (yay!) and also the start of finals week (boo).
