A few months ago, Ryan & I signed up for the Electric Run 5k at the speedway in Concord . Ryan’s ankle wasn’t in top shape so after some deliberating, we decided to sell our tickets and thought we had found someone. So Friday after work we went to the gym and then to an impromptu dinner at The Capital Grille (for Charlotte restaurant week). Turns out we couldn’t end up selling our tickets so we thought, what the heck… let’s just go.
Ryan’s foot wasn’t really an issue because parts of the time you couldn’t even run, because it was so crowded! There were over 20,000 people at the speedway… I was not prepared for how many people there would be, especially since this was the first time it was held in Charlotte . The course was really cool though, with cool lights and pumping music. Everyone had some kind of glow-in-the dark item and you wouldn’t believe some of the costumes. Stupid me didn’t know the race wasn’t timed, so it was basically a party while running… but definitely a cool experience!
Saturday night we had another restaurant week date! We went to Bonterra with our friends Wade & Caitlyn. It’s a really cool restaurant that’s in an old renovated church in Dilworth. Afterward, we went out for some drinks at one of my favorite bars, Dandelion, which is also conveniently located downstairs from where we live 🙂
Saturday was a great pool day (yay for sun!!). For school, we are required to read a medical terminology book and will be tested on it the first week. If I must study, I definitely don’t mind as long as I’m working on my tan. Today began my last week of work and I couldn’t be more excited… T-minus 2 weeks until the first day of class!
