I can’t believe that one my besties is officially married!! This weekend was super busy but super fun… I forgot how much goes into the wedding day. Katie made the most beautiful bride and I am so glad that I got to share this important day with her and Matt. Now, let’s get on with the wedding recap!
The Look for Less: Target Edition
Living on a budget. That is what my life has been like since PA school (and before that, really) so I get pretty excited when I come across a good deal. I love a nice designer piece, don’t get me wrong, but I try to squeeze those in on my birthday or Christmas wish-lists for the most part. Until I get my first job and actually have some cash flow coming in, I have to be mindful of what I spend. Thankfully, my sweet fiancé is great with finances and keeps me in check… because we all know this girl loves to shop!
During one of my last trips to Target, I found myself perusing the clothing/accessory area (it always sucks you in!) and stumbled upon a few goodies. I think most ALL of us bloggers are pretty obsessed with Target and I have found a ton of designer looks for less that I had to share with you guys!
Ps. Click any of the images in the collage to shop!
My top pick on the list may have to be this black scalloped bikini. It looks just like the one by Marysia (which is pretty much sold out everywhere), but at a fraction of the cost! As for sunnies, I’m really loving the “clubmaster” style right now and the Ray-Bans are amazing, but if you’re clumsy or prone to losing your glasses- the ones from Target are only $16!
Another favorite is this pink satchel. Y’all know how much I love my Kate Spade “cedar street maise” bag- it’s the perfect size and shape and I always get a ton of compliments when I carry it. This Target version has the same great shape and I love the laser-cut detail.
The shoe section has also been on point lately. A fun pair of espadrilles is still on my list and don’t these black crochet flats look just like the Tory Burch version? The tassels on the Sam & Libby lace-up sandals are super cute- I tried these on and they are very comfy as well. So tell me… what are your favorite Target looks for less?
I’ll be hopping back on the good ol’ train today to head back to Charlotte for an extra special event… Katie’s wedding! I cannot wait for nail time this afternoon, the slumber party with the bridesmaids, and to watch one of my very best friends walk down the aisle! So excited to spend this weekend with some of my favorite people 🙂
FAVE TARGET FINDS
One Year From Today…
… I get to marry the love of my life!
That’s right y’all, we’re officially at the one year mark from our wedding #sapelebration (yes, that is our amazing hashtag) and I’m just as excited as can be!! Ryan is my other half, my partner in crime, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world because I get to call him my hubby in just 365 days. A year seems like a really long time, but I’m sure it will fly by! We decided to have a longer engagement because I didn’t want to get married in PA school and wanted to get graduation out of the way so I could fully enjoy everything (December 12th y’all!). Wedding planning over the last few months has been going pretty well, a bit stressful at times but that’s to be expected right? I feel like I’ve accomplished so much in the past few months that we’ve been engaged but we still have a long way to go.
Here’s what’s gone down so far for the Hendley-Sapel wedding!
Read about Part 1 and Part 2 of the proposal at the Grove Park Inn!
Picked a venue
Booked a photographer
Hired hair & makeup
Went to the bridal showcase, left with $1000 toward flowers (woooo!)
Booked our ceremony musicians and DJ
We have an officiant
Hired a caterer
I said yes to the dress!
Officially booked a videographer (that’s right y’all- pretty ecstatic about this one!)
What I’ll be working on in the next few months:
Deciding on bridesmaid dresses (see how I asked my girls here)
Looking at cakes/dessert
Figuring out linens
Where to have the rehearsal dinner
Hopefully hiring a month-of coordinator
Engagement photos (can’t wait!!)
Save the dates, invites, and all the fun paper goods
And much, much more…
And so the countdown begins! Stay tuned for more wedding updates 🙂
#VacayEveryDay with Palm Breeze Spritzers
Happy humpday, friends! I was so excited that it was finally warm and sunny again this weekend. I was in Charlotte for a brief two days and took full advantage of the sunshine on Saturday. One of my favorite places to spend my weekend afternoons would have to be the rooftop pool at our condo. And what’s my weekend necessity that goes along with lounging at the pool? A nice, tasty drink in my hand!
Crisp White Ruffles
I wore this outfit for our Friday sushi date night. The boy & I headed to Eight Sushi, a restaurant in the Music Factory right outside of uptown (thanks again Groupon). I picked up this Zara white ruffle top when I went to NYC the other month because I’m a sucker for anything with ruffles or peplum… or just white tops for that matter. It has been so darn cold lately but I finally got to bust it out, even though it was still pretty chilly that night. I love this top because it’s made of that clean, crisp cotton material that we all know and love. The asymmetrical hemline makes it a little different too 🙂
Wedding Guest Wardrobe
Wedding season is here and in full swing! My Facebook feed is blowing up with wedding photos and I don’t know about y’all, but I’ll be quite the busy lady this year with 4 more to attend. I guess I’m getting to that age where everyone is settling down and tying the knot but hey, it’s a beautiful thing and I’m always up for a party. As you already know, I’m a girly girl and I always get super excited when planning my outfit for a wedding, so today I’m talking about my favorite wedding essentials!
Everly maxi dress (similar here) // Kate Spade sunnies // similar gold clutch // nude ankle strap heels
Maxi dresses are great because they can really be dressed-up or down. I wore this coral number to Ryan’s cousin’s wedding in Florida. The venue was a golf club but the ceremony was outside so I didn’t have to get too fancy. I paired it with my nude heels, a statement necklace, and a metallic clutch. If you want to go a little more casual, you could opt for wedges or a pretty belt to accentuate your waist. I have yet to go to a black-tie wedding, but I can tell you that I’m dying to wear a fancy long gown for something… anything!
I love a good lace dress. They’re classy, feminine, and great for weddings any time of the year. And if you’re headed to a southern soiree, why not whip out your favorite Lilly dress? The bright colors and fun patterns are perfect for summer outdoor weddings.
A pair of nude heels will take you a long way. The oh-so-versatile ankle strap sandals will go with just about any dress that you have- just make sure to get a pedi! Going to a beach wedding? Trade in the heels for some wedges or Jack Rogers.
I would also invest in a good quality, neutral clutch. I’ve gotten TONS of use out of this Kate Spade gold clutch- it gets bonus points for the little chain strap. In my clutch you will find lipstick, my mini hairbrush/mirror, mints, and bandaids (to save those poor feet at the end of the night)!
If you’re headed to an outdoor wedding, don’t forget your sunnies! Here are some that I’ve had my eye on.
And last but not least, please don’t wear white (and yes, cream/off-white still counts)!! My friend Katie’s wedding is just over 2 weeks away and I cannot wait to be her bridesmaid and enjoy the special day with her- I know it will be absolutely amazing! What are some of your wedding day must-haves?
