Hi, friends! Excited to share a quick travel recap with y’all today. Two weeks ago Ryan & I went down to Miami for a little R&R. I actually went for a work conference so we got to kill two birds with one stone. Today I’m sharing a few photos including details on where we stayed, some of the restaurants we went to and a few outfit details!
Where we stayed – Miami Beach Edition
Ryan had some Marriott points so we decided to stay at the Miami Beach Edition. The hotel and property were gorgeous- all white like you would expect in Miami but also very lush. The lobby is filled with plants and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was spacious and filled with tons of natural light which I loved. They have two big pools- just know that you have to get there pretty early to score a lounger (don’t love this but I feel it’s the same way at every resort). They had a beach bar where we had lunch most days and also a market that was good for breakfast and pastries.
Where we ate
The first night we stayed at our hotel for dinner at The Matador Room. They have Spanish/Latin American tapas and everything we had was amazing. We opted to dine outside because the weather was absolutely gorgeous but the inside space is equally as beautiful. Highly recommend the shishito peppers and hearts of palm salad!
Outfit Details
I got this swimsuit before the trip as an early birthday presents to myself. It’s the “Ruffle Oasis” style from Summersalt and I absolutely LOVE it! I sized up to accommodate my growing bump and the material is great quality, super comfortable. I love the ruffle straps and dot print- it also comes in a lot of other prints as well.
I wore this green tiered dress out to dinner our first night. It has a subtle shimmery design and the green really pops. It’s a fun and flows option if you prefer longer sleeves. I paired it with my trusty tan espadrille wedges– I know I should probably try some new ones but these are just so comfy!
I love a good LWD for spring & summer and wore this white ruffle sundress out to dinner one night. It’s fun, flirty and I love the bows on the shoulders. FYI the material is on the thinner side so just make sure to wear a nude bra and undies with this one!
This Lilly Pulitzer swimsuit is probably one of my favorites I’ve ever purchased! The vibrant colors, the fit and the material are amazing and while this exact style is no longer available, I’ve linked a few similar options below.
Like I mentioned, I was here for a CME conference from work. The cool thing about this one was that it’s destination-based, meaning you have to be 20 miles from the main hotel BUT everything is all online. That meant I got to listen to the lectures from the bed, beach or poolside (and my AirPods really came in handy)! If you’re a healthcare provider looking to use up some CME money on somewhere you can travel, send me an email and I can give you more details!
We were up pretty early most days and spent the majority of our time lounging at the beach or pool (Ryan did golf one morning). It was a great time for the two of us to get away, relax and enjoy some great food and weather. While Miami was nice, I definitely prefer visiting Naples or the Caribbean for beach vacations. We really wanted to go to the Caribbean, but didn’t want to risk it since you now have to get a COVID test before getting back into the US. With my job and Porter we just didn’t want risk getting stuck there which is why we chose Miami. Any time away with the hubs is much appreciated and we are very thankful for our parents and nanny for watching our little guy while we were gone!
