Well guys, daylight savings has officially come and gone and the holiday season is upon us! Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and while Christmas is my clear favorite, we can’t forget about this special day. There is so much to be thankful for and one of my very favorite traditions is our annual friendsgiving. This was the 4th year my closest friends and I have gotten together to celebrate and this year, Ryan & I got to host!
I’m lucky to have friends that know what they’re doing in the kitchen and as always, we had a delicious spread and everyone left stuffed. Ryan & I were in charge of the ham, dressing and cranberry sauce. Along with prepping the food, I was excited to prep the decor (are you really surprised?!). I wanted to put together a fun and festive tablescape since this is the first holiday we’ve decorated for in our new house.
I fell in love with the colors in these plaid placemats so I worked my way up from there. I added some more festive touches with white berry garland and the cutest turkey napkin rings. They really tied it all together! The gold-rimmed water glasses were a gift from my grandma and are perfect for holiday place settings. I also have to thank Ryan’s mom for helping me and answering all my decor questions (and for scoring these chargers at Michaels for $1.50 each!!). A few fresh flowers from Trader Joe’s and just like that, our table was ready for feasting! Ps. If you’re interested, all sources are linked at the bottom of the post.
We ate, we drank, played some games and took some “family” photos. We went around the table and said what we were all thankful for (a must for any thanksgiving dinner) and in just a few weeks, our group will grow by 2 sweet babies! Hopefully we can keep this tradition going for years to come.
… And now everyone do something funny!
Do any of y’all celebrate friendsgiving? I love any excuse to get together with my friends and eat amazing food so if you don’t, join me in starting a fun tradition! Thanks for reading!
